Throughout the history of Meserete Kristos Church, the ministry of shepherding God’s flock has remained a central responsibility. This vital work has been entrusted primarily to the Pastoral Ministry Division.
The church was established in 1943 E.C. with 7 men and 3 women as its founding members. By God’s grace, it has grown significantly over the years and now consists of more than 2,000 local churches and 2,300 outreach centers. On average, each local congregation serves over 800 believers.
Core Focus Areas of the Pastoral Ministry Division
Discipleship: Guiding every believer in spiritual growth through the ministry of local churches.
Leadership Development: Raising leaders and full-time ministers through both short-term and long-term training programs.
Women’s Ministry: Empowering women to serve as gospel workers, leaders, and full-time ministers at the national level.
Youth Ministry: Equipping young people at different stages of life—teenagers, mature youth, and university-level youth—through local churches and national coordinators.
Children’s Ministry: Nurturing and teaching children across all levels within the church through the national children’s ministry.
